The difference lies in both intention and composition. Plant medicine like Ayahuasca, mushrooms and hapé are natural substances used in ceremonial settings for healing and spiritual growth, while drugs are often chemically manufactured and used recreationally. Research shows that trauma can be stored in the body, and somatic practices help create a sense of safety and grounding, making the journey with plant medicine more effective and supportive for long-term healing.

Your safety is our top priority. Before the retreat, we conduct a medical screening to ensure that participants are physically and mentally able to safely participate. During the retreat, we follow strict safety procedures to support each participant throughout the ceremonies. We work exclusively with experienced, trusted facilitators who are skilled in handling plant medicine ceremonies and are trained in crisis management, first aid, and trauma-informed care. We create a safe and sacred environment for healing, with a focus on your well-being at all times. Travel insurance is, however, recommended for any unexpected emergencies.

Our chef will be preparing gluten-free omnivore meals with vegetarian options. We want to offer grounding and cleansing foods as it will support the plant medicine ceremonies and healing work we are facilitating.

Two participants will be assigned to each jungle cabin. Each cabin is equipped with two beds and a private bathroom as well as fans and AC. You may select your roommate if you have a specific preference.

No, The Beyond Retreat is a co-ed retreat welcoming both women and men.

The initial deposit of $1000 is strictly non-refundable
If you cancel by March 1st, 2025 any payments minus the $1000 non-refundable deposit will be refunded.
If you cancel between March 2-March 31, 50% of payments made minus the $1000 initial deposit will be refunded.
If you cancel between April 1 and the retreat start date (May 14) no refunds will be given.
If you decide to leave the retreat early for any reason, no refund will be given for any part of the payment.
If for some reason you become ill and are unable to attend the retreat, your investment will be converted into a credit valid for use at a future retreat or for another offering(s) of your choosing with Janira. This credit will have an expiration date of 1 year from the retreat start date.
